Source hierarchy

For eligibility, benefit rules, program status, pricing, inventory, and technical requirements, we prefer the organization that owns the rule: an official government page, school, nonprofit, program provider, manufacturer, or other first-party source.

Secondary sources can help us discover a topic or understand consumer confusion, but they should not replace the primary source for a claim the primary source can answer directly.

Claim discipline

We distinguish a public benefit from a separate device-assistance program. We also distinguish donations from loans, discounts from giveaways, connectivity from hardware, and eligibility evidence from guaranteed approval.

• No fabricated approval rates, reviews, seals, testimonials, or government affiliations.
• No claim that EBT, Medicaid, SSI, or another benefit directly provides a general-purpose laptop unless the responsible program actually says so.
• No promise of inventory, a particular device brand, or delivery timing that the provider has not made.

Dates and freshness

Published and modified dates identify our content edition. A current modified date does not mean every third-party program changed on the same day or has inventory at the moment you read the page.

Because eligibility rules, funding, service areas, prices, and inventory can change, readers should verify time-sensitive terms with the organization responsible for the program.

Use of research and automation tools

Automated tools may assist with research organization, drafting, formatting, consistency review, and technical publishing. They do not change who is accountable for the published page.

Program, benefits, hardware, eligibility, and legal-boundary claims should be checked against the appropriate source before publication or material revision.

Corrections and material updates

Send corrections to [email protected] with the page URL, exact statement, and supporting first-party source when available. We prioritize corrections that could materially change a reader's eligibility understanding, cost, privacy, safety, or decision.

Commercial independence
